Hello. October is a busy month! With application deadlines and everything blowing around everywhere we’ve been meaning to update you on a few things:
• York Redoubt’s self-titled debut sold out of it’s first pressing! We will still be taking orders as they will have more in shortly (with a slightly tweaked design). It’s already garnering a lot of critical acclaim, debuting at #14 on the earshot National Charts! Here are just a few reviews from (click to view):

• Both The Gideons and Gamma Gamma Rays have been working hard on their records, So be on the lookout in 2010!

York Redoubt and The Mighty Northumberland

Hey, we’re not doing Hot Money Mondays anymore, but we are playing in bands making records. This month, we’re proud to announce the arrival of the first York Redoubt LP and the double CD by The Mighty Northumberland. You can order both in the Store section.

The York Redoubt LP comes on grey speckled vinyl and screen printed artwork by Yo Rodeo. Download code included.

The Mighty Northumberland is a double CD called A Dream of Rivers and The Human Soul respectively. It comes in a gatefold CD package with artwork by Will Robinson.

No More Summer, No More Mondays

So, despite a lack of news or warning of any sort, Hot Money Mondays have ended. Every Monday for one year, one or more songs came out for free from us. Very soon I think, you’ll notice in the “Mondays” section that all of it will be compiled and organized for you to download as a package or individually check out each Monday’s pages. Thanks for listening, and don’t forget to keep checking the site for more and new kinds of releases.

So, you may or may not know that Hot Money Records has just released its first compilation CD full of old Monday goods, and new unreleased extra-goods. You can download the mp3’s for free in our Store section or e-mail us (at hotmoneyrecords@gmail.com) for a hard copy ($3 with a free poster).

In other news, York Redoubt are releasing a new tape this week as our thirty-seventh Hot Money Monday. Again, e-mail us (at hotmoneyrecords@gmail.com) for a hard copy ($3). The tape is called Cheap Funerals.

York Redoubt will also be playing some shows across Canada through the month of June, check out when and where on their Myspace.

It’s looking like an interesting year for us as both Gamma Gamma Rays and York Redoubt are currently recording their first full length efforts. Hey, we figured it’s time to update you on some things to come. For the past few months, we’ve been working on a handful of new releases. Before too long, two-thousand and nine should see new records from York Redoubt, The Mighty Northumberland, The Gideons, Married Women, and more. Also, we’re in the planning period for what will be the first Hot Money 7″ compilation.

Hello. Welcome to our new place on the internet. This time we have room for everything, including our Hot Money Monday page. Hot Money Mondays is a series of singles released online by Hot Money every Monday. The singles, accompanied by individual art and a written piece, will now continue with a podcast to accompany them. Expect lots of surprises as the Hot Money Monday series continues.
